Hi, I am Frank, a user of an EFIX V1 supported 'Mac'. It is a single task machine, so I stick to 10.5.x without missing anything, BUT: I succesfully installed my 1010LT using it with Logic, having a spare PCI slot left useless and some other DELTA Series cards lying around (DELTA 44) I would like to get it acknowlegded by the driver.

Just pluging in and restarting doesn't seem to work (this was the only procedure I had to go through with native Macs in PPC- times). The 1010 is seen and usable unchanged, the 44 is not seen.

Is there any configuration file that should be treated to enable it? Does the Envy24 driver support multiple card use at all? If yes would be funny to get a second 1010LT for a 16 channel in/out configuration. Please give me some hints. This functionality was originally implemented on windows 98se/me following that, mac os 9.x (i dont think the multi card sync ever worked with the 8.6 drivers) this is ancient history just to show u how old these cards are.

The delta series began in late 99/early 2000 with the release of the original 1010 Rack unit.followed by the delta 44/66 then the delta 410 in fall 2001, followed by the rbus + tdif fullduplex 10in 10 out cards.then the Delta 1010LT was released in about summer/fall 2002. The fact that they are working at all is a miracle. The original card sync depended heavily on using spdif connection clock locking by cascading the output of the master clock card to the 2ndary cards. Unless this driver supports switching of the cards sync from 'internal Xtal' to 'spdif in' (and 3rdly, 'word clock in') then the likelihood of the card sync working accurately is slim to none. Windows 98+ mac os 9 functionality was acheived thru an 'ASIO' driver. Mac os X of course doesnt use ASIO.

Im not familar much with the differences between ASIO vs Core Audio. Not sure if they achieved multicard sync in panther + tiger by utilizing the 'aggregate device' functionality of X itself. Or if there was a 'core audio driver' that was responsible for this. Ultimately tho, my advice to anyone using any hackintosh X. Dont try to use a PCI card that doesnt have its own manufacturer drivers. And if u do own a delta 1010LT.

Use it in an older computer or sell it off to someone else. There are other pci cards that do have proper intel 64bit drivers for them miraculously. The best driver for this card series is on windows XP. Since the release of the 5051 delta driver (back around 2002 or 2003) there have been reduced features on every 'driver update' for the delta cards in comparison to the original robust featured driver which featured phase inversions, bass management etc all of that extra stuff was removed from the driver because the people updating it for m-audio didnt have the time to dedicate to making it all work. Another reason your card may not be seen properly or for the other reports ive just read regarding graphics problems + other wierdness its most likely that their cards are not compatible with pci 2.3 spec the entire range of m-audio cards was updated to new revisions. If u look on the pcb board for the delta card it should say rev A rev B rev C rev D if its rev A or B it may be a 5v pci card (pci spec 2.1? I think?) while many boards may feature 33mhz/pci slots- they may not properly support older pci spec.

Some new motherboards have 100% proper support for older pci devices check out wikipedias page on intel chipsets. U will see a chart column for 'PCI SUPPORT' and its a minority which boards have a check in this column. This doesnt mean that all the boards dont have pci slots but rather this is accomplished via a pci bridge on many of the boards. Sort of like how X had 'classic mode' virtualized back in the day to keep 'compatibiliity' but it was never 'true compatbility' it was virtualized. Similar concept there. If your card has 2 notches in the pci connectors + it is a rev C or D its more likely to be pci spec 2.2 or pci spec 2.3 compliant and u have a way higher chance of it working 100% properly with 2006+ motherboards the delta 44 - not sure if they even bothered to update it when they updated the other cards because that card doesnt even have spdif on it.

So it cant even sync properly with another delta card they tried to virtualize thesync but it was never a 100% solution the delta 66 is the same as the delta 44 with the addition of spdif so it can clock properly to another cARD as for me i use my delta cards on windows XP where they allow me to use pro tools m-powered thanks to the driver on xp being 100% properly developed. If u want my advice thats where u would get the most rock solid dependable functionality of these cards for more info on my hackintosh i use a motu pci-x 424 card and it works beautifully. Highly reccommended over the delta cards, but its best to go firewire or usb.

Leave the pci devices to 32 bit os where they actually work properly as intended with the original drivers.
