Not sure about that. I'm running Snapshot 30 here, and no auto-update to 31 is offered at start, neither does the integrated check for updates say that there is a new version available when run manually. Is that just for me or a known issue? Might be an explanation for the lower number of S31 downloads? - Klaus snapshot 31 seems to be not really popular. I guess people are waiting for 32, since 31 has several known problems, and expect that 32 is released soonish. Nico - You received this message from the 'vimmac' maillist.

I'm running Snapshot 30 here, and no auto-update to 31 is offered at start, neither does the integrated check for updates say that there is a new version available when run manually. The appcast usually is not updated for a few days after a new snapshot. Usually, lots of people download new snapshots before the appcast is updated anyways. Nico ps: As Bjorn pointed out, the appcast won't be updated with snapshot 31 as it's buggy. You received this message from the 'vimmac' maillist.

I've rolled the auto-updating version back to snap 28 and won't be adding 31 at all as an automatic download. At the moment I've got everything on hold until we manage to sort out the current crashing problems, but it's taking a while since I can't reproduce the bug on my machine. I would like to make a snap 32 a.s.a.p. But I fear this might take a while.:-( BTW, may MacVim be downloaded from an alternate server?
For me, the download is always interrupted after about 4 MB, and I successfully downloaded MacVim only after I installed WGet. Best regards, Yongwei - Wu Yongwei URL: - You received this message from the 'vimmac' maillist. For more information, visit -.

I've seen a couple of sites that offer the download.just google 'macvim'. For example.I'm sure there are a lot more! It is a non-issue for me now.-What do you expect of a new/potential MacVim user? Do you expect them to find the correct download tool, or find the correct download site except the official one?
The best solution, IMHO, is that you provide a download URL on the MacVim site that works for just Safari. Best regards, Yongwei - Wu Yongwei URL: - You received this message from the 'vimmac' maillist. For more information, visit -. Note that Curl is wget on steroids.
I wouldn't say that. It supports more protocols and has libcurl behind it which can be handy, but is hardly relevant here (we're using HTTP), but it doesn't have wget features of recursive download (useful for mirroring which we have been discussing), URL rewriting or dependency analysis/download, and it doesn't helpfully default to retrying like wget does (so your commandline probably wouldn't work without an added -retry argument or a default configuration file in this case). I could add links to the above sites in the 'Links' box on the right-hand side of the main page, do you think this is sufficient?
I'm already hosting macvim.org - mirroring MacVim seems only fair:-) Is there a link that will always point to the 'current' download(s) that I can rsync/wget from? Google Codes pages don't seem to be machine friendly.
Vim Download For Windows 7
Maybe I should look into how Sparkle works, as that seems like the right binary to mirror - whatever is in the auto-update queue. Comments? I will keep naming the latest snapshot MacVim-snapshot-X.tbz (where X is the build number) so a script building on Nico's that looked for new versions and mirrored them automatically should work. Or even simpler, can't you just mirror the entire folder That's where all snapshots end up. Then just tell me where you've mirrored that folder and I'll link to the latest snapshot on your mirror whenever I update a snapshot.

Maybe not so good since there may be a lag between me uploading snapshot and your server mirroring it. But it's a start. Not quite that simple, as I couldn't just get the contents of that folder. But I think I've got something worked out. Please see I'd rather you didn't publish it for a day or two though, I want to make sure my syncing script isn't going to fall over.

Note this will muck up Nico's download stats:-) Maybe I can figure out how to let him see these stats and add them to his totals in the future.
